Echemo is a washed Ethiopian coffee from producer Khalid Shifa in Goma, Jimma. The coffee comes from old Ethiopian heirloom cultivars originally selected from wild coffee trees in the nearby Coche forest, planted by Khalid’s grandfather, and still producing today.

In the cup, Echemo is elegant and expressive: soft white tea, aromatic florals, and lingering stone fruit sweetness. Tim Wendelboe describes this harvest as the most intense Echemo they have bought, with more pronounced aromas and flavors than previous years.

The coffee is selectively hand-picked, wet fermented, washed, and dried slowly on shaded elevated tables for 12–14 days before being vacuum packed for export. The result is a clean, delicate, and highly aromatic Ethiopian coffee with exceptional clarity.

A beautiful choice for filter brewing, especially if you enjoy floral African coffees with tea-like structure and a long, sweet finish.
